Sarah Vaughan started her professional singing career touring with the "Earl Hines Orchestra" for several years beginning in 1943.
Her recording of the song "Tenderly" became an unforeseen hit in 1947.
After changing her record label to Mercury Records in 1954 she achived her fisrst gold record with and released her favorite LP "Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown." in 1954.
