An up-and-coming jazz singer, Alexis Morrast was originally from Newark, New Jersey, began singing when she was three, and has since performed with Christian McBride, Barry Harris, Steve Jordan, and Michael Feinstein among others.

She has a mature voice and style but was actually only in her early twenties at the time of this May 23, 2020 LiveStream.

Joined by an excellent local rhythm section, Alexis Morrast puts warmth and soul into such songs as “Caravan,” “Besame Mucho,” “Basin Street Blues,” and “Kissing Me Softly With His Song,” displaying an impressive range and an appealing voice.

Sometimes sounding a bit like Sarah Vaughan, Alexis Morrast shows a lot of potential during this fine performance.
