Going Down To The River
Mississippi Fred McDowell
American Folk Blues Fest ’65
Mississippi Fred McDowell plays “Going Down To The River” during the 1965 American Folk Blues Festival. Fred McDowell is captured providing an excellent example of his Northern Mississippi blues style with a full acoustic sound. He may not have played rock & roll as he often had to explain, but he did teach young rock musicians and blues enthusiast alike, and even served as a slide guitar coach to a young Bonnie Raitt.
