Albert King (guitar & vocals) is featured performing the R&B classic “Kansas City” at the “Maintenance Shop Blues” concert filmed during a live TV broadcast in 1981.
The song “Kansas City” was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller in 1952 and first recorded by Little Willie Littlefield shortly after. It proved to be duos’ most popular composition recorded by both The Beatles and James Brown, and boasts over three hundred other versions.
