R. L. Burnside (electric guitar & vocals) is captured at home in Independence, Mississippi by Alan Lomax, Worth Long, and John Bishop during filming in August 1978. Burnside had lived in the same place playing the same music for most of his life but didn’t receive much attention until his late 1990’s recordings with Jon Spencer earned him cross-genre appeal.
