John Dee Holeman

Blues from Gromes Hotel

Filmed in a room at the Gromes Hotel in New York City during February 1989.

Prior to his retirement John Dee Holeman worked full time as a construction worker only playing music as a side line in his off time. He started performing for local parties as a teen inspired by the music of Blind Boy Fuller. Unlike many of his Piedmont blues counterparts Holeman’s style bares a Texas influence.
