When I Get Drunk
Carey & Lurrie Bell
Carey Bell & Son
Carey Bell (harmonica & vocals) and his son Lurrie Bell (guitar) cut loose during a performance at home.
As a boy in Macon, Mississippi Carey Bell Harrington longed to be like his idol Louis Jordan. But his family could not afford to buy he a saxophone so he settled for a harmonica in it’s place. He would soon find new role models in blues harmonica greats like DeFord Bailey and Big Walter Horton. At the age of thirteen he joined his godfather Lovie Lee’s band with whom he first journeyed to Chicago in September 1956.
