Ward’s Rediscovery

Robert Ward (guitar & vocals), is backed by a band featuring Ry Cooder (guitar), Steve Douglas (saxophone), Nick Lowe (bass), and Tony Johnson (drums), during a 1991 performance.

The Founder of the the Ohio Untouchables guitarist Robert Ward released a sires of single with the group during the early ’60s among them “Your Love is Real” which became his signature. He left the group in 1965 and moved to the Detroit area a couple of years later. After recording some singles under his own name and working as a session musician for Motown he disappeared from music at some point during the 1970s. Robert Ward was rediscovered by Black Top Records in 1991.
