This is the Hundredth and twenty-ninth in a series of special Jazz on the Tube reviews of live stream performances.

One of the more popular party bands of New Orleans, Big Sam’s Funky Nation mixes together funk, jazz and rock in an exuberant and danceable blend of music.
The spirited music, which has been featured on six albums and many live performances, is a constant in New Orleans including at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Singer-trombonist Big Sam Williams leads an ensemble that usually features guitarist Keenan “Butta Cream” McRae, keyboardist Kendrick Marshall, bassist Jerry “JBlakk” Henderson, and drummer Alfred Jordan.
On their Aug. 30, 2020, Big Sam’s Funky Nation puts on an entertaining show filled with infectious grooves and strong ensemble playing.
