The Cosmo Alleycats, a San Francisco swing band, was founded in 2010.

The group consists of singer Emily Day, trumpeter Andrew Storar, Pete Cornell on tenor and clarinet, pianist Noam Eisen, bassist Steve Height, and drummer Mike Burns.

At Northern California music festivals and clubs, the Cosmo Alleycats perform Dixieland/New Orleans jazz, swing standards, and occasionally Motown, classic soul and contemporary songs.

During their LiveStream of Jan. 28, 2021, the group puts on an entertaining show, performing such numbers as “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” (during which Ms. Day sounds a bit like Billie Holiday but also scats), “Baby Won’t You Please Come Home,” “Bei Mir Bist Du Schon” (which starts out with a long solo classical piano interlude), a rollicking blues, “Some Of These Days,” “Stardust,” “Swing Sinners Swing,” “When You’re Smiling,” “Perdido,” “On The Sunny Side Of The Street,” and other joyful numbers with plenty of spirit.
