This is the Hundredth and Seventeenth in a series of special Jazz on the Tube reviews of live stream performances.

For a set of hot jazz from July 19, 2020, British clarinetist Adrian Cox teams up with pianist Joe Webb.

Cox began playing clarinet when he was six and at 15 he left home to become a professional musician.

While he has played blues, funk and ska, jazz is his true love.

For a time he was featured in his show “Profoundly Blue” which paid tribute to the great clarinetist Edmond Hall

Pianist Joe Webb, who is also from the United Kingdom, is a versatile pianist who perfectly fits in with Adrian Cox’s music.

The duo performs spirited versions of such numbers as “Royal Garden Blues,” “Blame It On The Blues,” Jelly Roll Morton’s “Winin’ Boy Blues” (which Cox sings), a pretty uptempo version of “High Society,” a heated “Blue Room,” “Stardust” and other vintage material during their frequently hard-swinging set.
