An impressive trumpeter, Jorge Vistel studied at the National Art School in his native Cuba
In 2005 he moved to Europe where he has worked with such major names as Benny Golson, Roy Hargrove, David Murray, Lewis Nash, Benny Green, Gary Thomas and many others, touring with pianist Alfredo Rodriguez’s Invasion Parade in 2014, and leading or co-leading four of his own albums.
For his solo trumpet LiveStream from May 31, 2020, Jorge Vistel displays a warm tone, impressive technique, a vivid imagination and impeccable breath control.
He performs such originals as “Transition,” “Fiesta En El Batey” and “Hamilton City,” with the highlight being his fresh and rhythmic rendition of “The Peanut Vendor.”
