Written and published by Jimmy McHugh in 1928 – with lyrics by Dorothy Fields – “I Can’t Give You Anything but Love” made its debut in Lew Leslie’s Blackbird Revue.
It’s since been covered extensively in the jazz community by the likes of Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Billie Holiday.
