The funkiest bass player in jazz

When it comes to playing funky jazz, few are on the level of electric bassist Marcus Miller.
Equally at home with Miles Davis and Luther Vandross, Miller always has impeccable articulation on his instrument (one can hear clearly every note he plays) and, while he is funky, he does not engage in endless repetition but is consistently creative throughout his playing.
“Run For Cover,” from a 2007 concert, other than a spot for tenor-saxophonist Keith Anderson, is a showcase for the bassist and serves as a fine introduction to his playing.
