Rahsaan Roland Kirk performs “The Inflated Tear” at the Fourth Mezinarodni Jazz Festival in Prague, Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia).

Kirk’s technique of playing multiple horns at once was often dismissed as a gimmick. This changed, however, with his 1968 album The Inflated Tear, which established him as a serious musician and composer.

Personnel:

Rahsaan Roland Kirk – reeds
Ron Burton – piano
Steve Novosel – bass
Jimmy Hopps – drums
