Hank Jones (1918-2010) was a tasteful, flawless and swinging pianist who, while coming up during the swing era, mastered bebop.
One year before his passing, he played at the Blue Note in Japan with members of his regular trio: bassist David Wong and drummer Billy Kilson.
They create a joyful version of Sonny Clark’s “Blue Minor” with a sparkling Jones solo followed by short statements from Wong and Kilson.
