Composed by Paul Desmond and made famous by album “Time Out” in 1959, “Take Five” is the highest-selling jazz single ever.
Vocalist and Chicago native Kurt Elling grew up singing in church choirs. In the early ’90s he began making the Chicago circuit, improvising lyrics and doing scat-singing. Since he has been nominated for 10 Grammys and continues to be popular with the critics at Down Beat magazine.
