Marion McPartland is the feature of an “About the Arts” segment in 1976, interviewed by Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel.

Marion appears in this television special playing the piano and talking about her life, music, and time spend educating school children with producer and jazz lover Barbaralee Diamonstein.

The pianist also shares the story of first meeting her future husband Jimmy McPartland and her respect and admiration for Mary Lou Williams.

In 2010 Marian was appointed “Officer of the Order of the British Empire” for her musical contributions and inspiration to the youth.
