Armando’s Rhumba
Chick Corea
Latin fusion
Written and recorded for the 1976 album “My Spanish Heart,” “Armando’s Rhumba” has that classic Chick Corea fusion jazz sound. The song, like the entire album, was influenced by the music of Latin America, particularly Flamenco, which features particularly muscular horn sounds.
Himself perhaps the most celebrated of jazz fusion keyboardists Corea would collaborate with Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett and McCoy Tyner – as well as of course Miles Davis.
