Michel Petrucciani (1962-99) overcame a major genetic disease (Osteogenesis imperfecta) to become a brilliant jazz pianist, accomplishing a great deal despite constant pain during his brief life.
From 1996, Petrucciani is featured striding his way through a personal and inventive version of “Besame Mucho” which becomes his “Looking Up.”
His playing is quite original (not displaying any obvious influences), he never looks down at the piano, and the music just flows through him.
