Dexter Gordon was a giant, both musically and physically, and his prime musical period was nearly 40 years.

Taken from the mid-1960s in the early part of his long period in Europe, this version of “Body And Soul” has Gordon stating the melody beautifully.

His relaxed solo, which includes quotes from such tunes as “Nancy With The Laughing Face,” “The Christmas Song” and the end of “Groovin’ High,” features Dexter Gordon in excellent form, creating a fresh statement in his own classic voice.
