The Preservation Hall Jazz Band was formed in 1961 and is still quite active today.
The personnel of the New Orleans group has changed many times since the early days and there are actually a pool of musicians that are drawn from, so the band can tour while another edition is featured at Preservation Hall in New Orleans.
A version of the group from 2010 was featured on a television special with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.
Among those featured on this rousing version of “Bourbon Street Parade” are trumpeter-singer John Brunious Jr., trombonist Frank Demond, pianist Rickie Monie, bassist Walter Payton, and drummer Joe Lastie.
As usual with this band in its many incarnations, the results are quite fun.
