Bassist Brian Bromberg was born on December 5, 1960 in Tucson, Arizona.

Whether playing acoustic or electric bass, Brian Bromberg is consistently brilliant.

Brian is a celebrated jazz bassist known for his technical brilliance and genre-blending creativity. He began his career as a prodigy, joining Stan Getz’s band at just 19 years old. Bromberg quickly gained recognition for his mastery of both upright and electric bass, pushing the boundaries of jazz with his innovative techniques and rich, melodic playing.

His career highlights include over 20 solo albums, collaborations with jazz legends like Dizzy Gillespie and Herbie Hancock, and pioneering work in smooth jazz and fusion. Known for his adventurous spirit, Bromberg frequently explores diverse genres, from straight-ahead jazz to funk and classical, solidifying his reputation as one of the most versatile bassists in contemporary jazz.

A master of tapping the bass, Bromberg tends to be underrated due to his eclectic career, but only a few other bassists are on his technical level.
