Annette Warren, a vocalist who dubbed in the singing voices for some Hollywood nonsinging actresses in films during the 1950s, a longtime vocal coach, and the wife of the late pianist Paul Smith, was 29 when she sang for Ava Gardner in the 1951 film Showboat.
73 years later in 2024, she performed “Can’t Help Loving That Man” at a birthday party for agent-manager Alan Eicher, who she praises before singing.
She was 102 at the time and still hits every note.
