Donna Lee – 2015

Eldar Djangirov

A remarkable version of a bebop classic by the young virtuosic pianist

Eldar Djangirov, who was born in 1987 in the Soviet Union, moved with his family to the US when he was ten.

A pianist since the age of three, he was considered a phenomenon by the time he was nine, made his first album when he was 14, and has continued to evolve ever since.

For this heated version of Charlie Parker’s “Donna Lee,” Eldar takes the piece apart before swinging with his trio which also includes bassist Massimo Biolcati and drummer Eric Doob.
