Kurt Elling has been heard in a wide variety of settings through the years, but the singer has not appeared that often with a big band.
In 2012 he had the opportunity to sing at a concert with the Orchestra Jazz Siciliana in Italy.
They perform a Benny Carter arrangement on “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” that one could easily imagine being played by the Count Basie Orchestra.
Elling has fun with the melody and at one point sings wordlessly with the band, an action that delights some of the horn players.
