During 1950-51, Count Basie was between big bands, leading an impressive septet.

The group made a series of Snader Telescriptions for television in 1950, including this warm version of “If I Could Be With You.”

Featured is the wonderful singer Helen Humes with backing by a group that includes tenor-saxophonist Wardell Gray, clarinetist Buddy DeFranco and trumpeter Clark Terry.
