One of the catchier songs recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra, “Intermission Riff” became a permanent part of the band’s repertoire in 1946.

26 years later, the band was still playing it as can be seen in this stirring performance from 1972 which begins with Kenton himself stating the theme in the lower register of his piano.
