The Dave Brubeck Quartet was at the height of its popularity in 1962 although Brubeck would be consistently popular throughout his long career.
The classic group, with altoist Paul Desmond, bassist Eugene Wright, and drummer Joe Morello, performed “It’s A Raggy Waltz” on Australian television.
This relatively brief but enjoyable version has some beautiful playing by Desmond which makes Brubeck smile, along with a piano solo that hints at polyrhythms.
