Imagine being in the audience and seeing this set.
From 2010, the always fearless Cyrille Aimee sings and scats her heart out over a New Orleans-inspired parade rhythm (it eventually becomes a cooking tempo) while two notable horn players look on and wait their turn.
With active accompaniment by pianist Spike Willner, bassist Philip Kuehn, and drummer Joey Saylor, the singer shares the spotlight with trumpeter Roy Hargrove and tenor-saxophonist Joel Frahm on “Love For Sale.”
While the camera work wanders a bit, the music definitely comes through with Frahm taking solo honors.
