True to the title of the song, the lighting surrounding jazz heroes Lester Young and Harry Edison would almost seem to suggest a streetlamp. A young jazz enthusiast named Norman Granz would round up the musicians for this film, who were put on celluloid by cinematographer Robert Burke. Burke was later responsible for filming most of Alfred Hitchcock’s most famous work.
Featured alongside Lester Young is Illinois Jacquet, trumpeter Harry Edison, guitarist Barney Kessel, pianist Marlowe Morris and drummer Sidney Catlett.
