A major guitarist since the mid-1990s, Kurt Rosenwinkel is a versatile and consistently creative soloist with his own voice on his instrument.
While he played early on with Paul Motian’s Electric Bebop Band, Joe Henderson, and Brian Blade’s Fellowship and has collaborated with other top jazz artists, it is as a leader that Rosenwinkel (who by 2023 had led at least 17 albums) has made his mark.
Rosenwinkel and the New Generation, which also features tenor-saxophonist Aidan McKeon, pianist Joseph Block, bassist Alexander Claffy, and drummer Mark Whitfield J, stretch out on an original (basically a minor blues) that inspires inventive solos.
