Not too many people know that singer Dianne Reeves and keyboardist George Duke were cousins.

Both Reeves and Duke, while based in jazz, had somewhat similar careers at times, often stretching into other musical genres.

Surprisingly they performed and recorded together less often through the years than one would expect.

At the 2001 Northsea Jazz Festival, Dianne Reeves (whose voice sounds beautiful) and George Duke met up for a warm and quietly inventive version of Erroll Garner’s “Misty,” clearly enjoying playing together.
