Kenny Barron and Benny Green can certainly hold one’s interest by themselves, but on the rare times that they play together, the results are particularly magical.

Both of the pianists developed their own sounds and styles out of the straight ahead jazz tradition and have had long and productive careers invigorating the modern mainstream of jazz.

Plenty of notes fly by as they inspire each other on Thelonious Monk’s “Monk’s Dream.”
