The master of the seven-string guitar, George Van Eps (1913-98) consistently played the most beautiful chords.
Howard Alden, who was 45 years younger than Van Eps, has always been versatile while at heart being a swing soloist.
Together they made for a perfect fit on several albums in the 1990s and in their occasional joint live performances.
Van Eps and Alden perform a tasteful and quietly inventive version of “Night And Day” from a 1993 concert in Germany.
