Erroll Garner (1921-77) was a unique and brilliant pianist with his own very individual style.

While Garner was never known for playing bossa-nova, in the early-to-mid 1960s most jazz artists gave the new music a try including the pianist.

After playing the melody, Garner swings “One Note Samba” in his own inimitable fashion while accompanied by bassist Eddie Calhoun and drummer Kelly Martin.

He never got around to recording this piece and rarely explored Antonio Carlos Jobim’s music which makes this a unique performance.
