Gregory Porter has mostly performed original material throughout the last decade as he found fame as one of jazz’s top male singers.
An exception was made on his Nat King Cole tribute album in which, while accompanied by an orchestra, he performed some of Cole’s many hits.
“Smile,” the only Charlie Chaplin song to become a standard, became a standard partly due to Nat King Cole’s version.
On this colorfully shot and tasteful video, Gregory Porter lets the words and melody speak for themselves.
