During 1963-64, flugelhornist Art Farmer and guitarist Jim Hall came together to co-lead a quartet.
They had first met up as part of the Gerry Mulligan Sextet in 1962 and found that they had similar approaches to playing jazz, making every note and silence count, playing creativity but generally at a low volume and with soft tones.
From 1964, they perform a relaxed version of “Sometime Ago” with bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Walter Perkins.
