The 1948 Hollywood film A Song Is Born was a musical in which Danny Kaye and several comical professors sought to learn about jazz.
Many swing-oriented artists appeared in the movie, including Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey, and Charlie Barnet.
Benny Goodman had an acting role as one of the professors, portraying a classical clarinetist.
In this amusing scene, he learns how to play jazz clarinet with the help of vibraphonist Lionel Hampton along with pianist Mel Powell, rhythm guitarist Al Hendrickson, bassist Harry Babasin, and a young Louie Bellson on drums; there are several funny moments along with hot music.
