Bobby Enriquez (1943-96) was a remarkable jazz pianist whose brilliance, phenomenal technique, and ability to play creatively at a rapid tempo were somehow largely overlooked.

While best remembered today for his playing with altoist Richie Cole and for being dubbed “The Wildman” due to his often-percussive style, Enriquez was one of the giants.

On this brief but stirring performance of “Tea For Two” (from a television show in his native Philippines), Enriquez hints at what he could do, sounding relaxed and hyper at the same time.
