Sarah Vaughan, one of the finest singers of all time, actually started out as a pianist and early in her career (1943) played second piano in Earl Hines’ big band.
She rarely played piano throughout the remainder of her career until later in life when she would surprise audiences by showing that she really could play.
Sarah Vaughan does a credible job on “Tea For Two” from a 1985 concert in Barcelona, Spain.
