Abdullah Ibrahim, who is originally from South Africa, has been a major pianist, composer and bandleader for over 60 years.
While he has played adventurous, dynamic and picturesque music that evokes his homeland, in recent years Ibrahim has concentrated on slower tempos and more peaceful musical moods.
One of his most beautiful and memorable pieces was written decades ago and recorded several times, “The Wedding.”
On this solo piano version, Abdullah Ibrahim concentrates on the rich melody of “The Wedding,” playing with heartfelt emotion.
