Nat King Cole was a favorite of Ed Sullivan, appearing on his show numerous times.
One of the most popular singers of the 1950s and a brilliant swing jazz pianist, Cole was in his own class.
On this version of the swing standard “This Can’t Be Love” from the Ed Sullivan Show in 1954, Cole sings while accompanied by an unseen orchestra.
He also plays a little bit of piano without taking it too seriously.
