The most recorded bassist (and possibly musician) of all time, Ron Carter celebrated his 85th birthday in 2022 and showed no sign of slowing down.

While Carter will always be associated with the Miles Davis Quintet of 1964-68, he has led his own trios for decades.

Since 2014, the Ron Carter Trio has included pianist Donald Vega and guitarist Russell Malone.

The group performs a Carter jazz waltz, an unaccompanied stroll on a blues by the bassist (purposely varying the tempo along the way), and a happy original
