Slim Gaillard (1916-91) was a brilliant and humorous performer who had hits with “Flat Foot Floogie” and “Cement Mixer,” could play guitar and piano very well, and was quite an entertainer.
For this timeless performance, Gaillard comes out, says that he is going to play his second number, then plays piano on a medium-tempo blues, sometimes with his fingers upside down.
He finishes off his mini-performance by performing an abstract medley on guitar, singing “Cement Mixer” and tossing in ad-libs.
