White Christmas

Ella Fitzgerald

All time best-selling single

Ella Fitzgerald made this recording of “White Christmas” in 1960.

The song “White Christmas” was written by Irving Berlin the most popular version of which, sung by Bing Crosby, has become the best-selling single of all time.

After one of his typical all night writing sessions Berlin reportedly turned to his secretary and exclaimed, “Grab your pen and take down this song. I just wrote the best song I’ve ever written; heck, I just wrote the best song that anybody’s ever written!”
