A light-hearted big band performance

Bob Mintzer has had a wide-ranging career as a tenor-saxophonist including playing for many years with the Yellowjackets.

Mintzer is also a skilled arranger-composer who occasionally leads a big band filled with jazz and studio veterans.

“Who’s Walking Who” (performed at the MCG in Pittsburgh) starts out whimsically; one can imagine a “master” being dragged around by his or her dog.

Along the way there are fine solos from altoist Pete Yellin and trombonist Dave Taylor, excellent bass work from Rufus Reid, and some spirited ensembles.by the top-notch jazz orchestra.
