While Stan Getz is sometimes associated with bebop, cool jazz and bossa-nova, he was always open to new styles while retaining his beautiful tone and basic approach.

In 1972 his quartet included three younger players who were primarily thought of as inventive fusion players during that era: keyboardist Chick Corea, bassist Stanley Clarke, and drummer Tony Williams.

Getz’s tone is as luscious as ever and Clarke has a brief virtuosic spot but Corea (the composer of “Windows”) on electric piano takes honors.
