The DIVA Jazz Orchestra, which has been active since 1993, has not only been the top female jazz big band but one of the top jazz orchestras of any genre in the world during the past few decades.

On this high-powered version of “You And The Night And The Music,” one can hear why they are rated so high.

Driven by its leader Sherri Maricle’s powerful drums, there are strong solos from flutist Laura Dreyer, trumpeter Tanya Darby and tenor-saxophonist Cynthia Mullis, and many rousing ensembles that are quite exciting.
