Flugelhornist Art Farmer played with many major all-star groups throughout his life including the Lionel Hampton Big Band (1953), the Gerry Mulligan Quartet (1959), the Jazztet with Benny Golson, and his own combos.
One of his finest bands was a quartet that he led in 1964 that included guitarist Jim Hall, bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Pete LaRoca.
Farmer and Hall are featured on a tasteful (if unidentified) bossa nova, blending together perfectly while generating inner heat; the results are both soothing and memorable.
